The North Georgia School of Gospel Music is a two week music school held every summer at Truett McConnell College in Cleveland, GA. Students will learn theory, sight reading, ear training, conducting, and song writing. We accept all ages, you're never too old for music school! Students can also sign up for private piano, voice, and guitar lessons.
We offer classes during the day from 8:00 A.M. until 3:30 P.M. Free time is from 3:30 P.M. until 6:30 P.M.. All students are required to attend the sight reading singing in Sewell-Plunkett Chapel from 6:30 P.M. until 8:30 P.M.. Visitors are welcome to visit this singing. Free time is from 8:30 P.M. until lights out at 11:00 P.M..

✚ QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Q. Can a person attend for one week only?
A. Yes, but NGSGM recommends that students attend both weeks in order to gain the full benefit of the music school. Also, all beginning students WITHOUT prior musical knowledge cannot be accepted for the SECOND WEEK ONLY.
Q. Can a person request a roommate or what dorm they would like to be in?
A. Yes. You may request a roommate by completing the space indicated on the application. Also a request for a specific dorm may be requested. This is for females only since there are two dorms available.
Q. What time do classes begin and end each day?
A. We start our day off with a devotional at 8 A.M.. Classes begin at 8:30 A.M. and end at 3:30 P.M.. Free time is offered from 3:30 P.M. until 6:30 P.M.. Night group singing begins at 6:30 P.M. and ends at 8:30 P.M.. Lights out at 11:00 P.M..
Q. Is there a dress code?
A. Yes. We have a dress code for class and activities. We are a Christian based organization and require that our students dress modestly. A letter will be mailed to each student that enrolls at NGSGM and this dress code will be listed on this letter and this code will be enforced.
Q. Do you provide anything for the weekend between?
A. No. We dismiss at 3:30 P. M on Friday of the lst week, students will need to be picked up by 5 P.M. Students will be allowed to check back in to the dorms on Sunday after 3:00 P.M. The pick-up time for the 2nd week will be 5:00 P.M. unless a dorm parent is notified that this time will be later.
Q. When and Where is the Close-Out Singing?
A. The NGSGM Close-Out Singing will be held on Friday night, June 29th at the First Baptist Church of Cleveland, Ga The singing will start at 7:00 P.M., - students are to be in the chapel at 6:45 P.M..
Q. Can you take more than one set of private lessons?
A. Yes. Classroom instructions will be missed, unless it is not a problem with the students.
Q. Are there laundry facilities at the college?
A. Yes. Students will need money for a card for use on washer & dryer if needed.
Q. Are there restrictions on cell phone use?
A. Yes. Students are allowed to have cell phones; however, they are required to have them turned off when participating in group singing, private lessons, or classes.
Q. What is the refund Policy for NGSGM?
A. If paid for full two weeks and attends the school at least 2 days, NO money will be refunded for the first week. BUT, the full second week will be refunded. If paid for one week and attends the school at least 2 days, NO money will be refunded to the student.
Q. What is the General Behavior & Rule Guidelines?
A. NGSGM has an Approved behavior and rule guidelines that are sent to each student enrolling. If this behavior guideline is broken, the parents of the student will be called and be asked to come and pick up the student without any refund of monies.
Q. May a commuting student purchase meals in the cafeteria?
A. Yes. The price is not known at this time. The student may bring their own meals
✚ CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT PROCEDURES
NGSGM students should check-in Sunday, June 17th. from 3:00 - 9:00 p.m. Students may also check-in Monday morning, June 18th. between the hours of 7:00 and 7:45 a.m..
Check-out time will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Fridays. (Please check with head dorm parent if later check-out is desired.)
ALL STUDENTS MUST CHECK IN immediately upon arrival.
